Blessing: November 29, 1997
Seonghwa Ceremony: December 1, 2021

Hiromi Akazawa was born in Japan, Iwate Prefecture, Morioka City in northern Japan. She was born to Katsuo and Rioko Akazawa, a police officer and preschool teacher, who raised Hiromi and her brother, Katsuhiro.

Hiromi was a cute child, very active, and full of energy. She was always running around until she suffered a knee injury. As a teenager, Hiromi was externally strong, but internally, she had a gentle soul and was very obedient to her parents. She had expressed her sadness that due to her father’s work, the family often moved, and she always had to leave her friends behind. They moved about ten times during her childhood, but Hiromi never complained and remained faithful and loving to her parents, despite her inner struggle.

Hiromi’s mother joined the Unification Movement. As a result, they faced some opposition from their relatives, but they didn’t give up loving everyone. Hiromi’s mom is also her spiritual mother, and through her, Hiromi learned her strong faith and loyalty to Heavenly Parent and True Parents.

Hiromi was matched by True Parents with Reymundo Mendoza, and they received the Marriage Blessing on November 29, 1997. The couple started their family in 2001 and raised together two boys, Nicolas Korin Mendoza who lives in New York, and Alexander Komai Mendoza who lives in California.

Hiromi was a loving mother and dedicated to her boys. She was strict but also flexible when needed. She has been a kind, caring, and compassionate wife and mother. Hiromi loved nature, she liked flowers and enjoyed the ocean. She also enjoyed Mexican food, which she grew to love.

Hiromi’s husband writes:

“Hiromi is like a bright star in the sky. I feel she is here as the wind blows and touches my face. Hiromi was very brave. Despite her pain and suffering, she always smiled and encouraged us. We send you all our love. We Miss you, and we’ll never forget you. We love you forever. See you soon.”
