Your Matching Team consists of the people in your life that you want to take on your journey to receive the Blessing.
Here are a few people to consider to have on your team:
Parents
If you have your parents involved in your Matching Process, then they should be on your team.
Parents usually offer the most significant support and encouragement during the process. It’s crucial to keep them aware of your situation and constantly report to them about your progress.
Matching Supporter
A Matching Supporter can offer a host of benefits to your team. They are trained to understand the Matching Process well and have personal experience and knowledge that will be helpful.
On top of that, Matching Supporters offer a third-party perspective that is often helpful in such an intimate and sometimes confronting process. For example, it might be helpful to have your Matching Supporter reach out to a Matching Candidate or family on your behalf. Doing this could maintain anonymity for you and your family and also mitigate any misunderstandings or possible hard feelings.
Aunts & Uncles or Older Brothers & Sisters
Older aunts, uncles, brothers, or sisters in your church community can offer much-needed wisdom and insight when navigating the Matching Process. Again, sometimes it can be very helpful to have an outsider’s objective perspective on your situation that the people closest to you cannot see easily.
Perhaps you met someone at a workshop one time that you feel would be an excellent addition to your team.
God
Let’s not forget that God, our Heavenly Parent, wants to be involved in your team too. In what ever way you connect with God, be sure to invite Him/Her into your Matching Process. Prayer, reporting, journaling, and taking walks/hikes are great ways to connect with God and stay connected.
Assemble Your Team
Reach out to the people you want on your team and let them know that you would like to keep them in the loop about your Matching Process.
If you don’t have many people on your team, that’s okay! Even if it’s just you and your parents or you and a Matching Supporter, the most important point here is to just have someone to have Give & Take with. As long as you can have a person or team to have constant communication with, you will surely be going in the right direction.
Remember: Give & Take is king when it comes to creating unity, open communication, and success in your Matching Process.
When you reach out to the people you want on your team, you can send them an email or message with something along these lines:
