Glenn was raised in a Catholic family in St. Louis, Missouri by his father, Kenneth Glenn Willis (a bronco busting cowboy from Texas) and a loving and dedicated mother, Lilyan Carter Willis. His only sibling, Darryl, passed away in April 2014.
From Catholic altar boy to missionary and leader in the Unification movement from 1975, he dedicated his life to serving God as a missionary and spiritual leader in Missouri and the Dakotas, as Missouri state director, and as an International One World Crusade team leader until 1987. God then entrusted Glenn, a six-year National Guard veteran, with the responsibility to move American political leaders to understand how he would direct them. He served as representative and director of the Minnesota American Constitution Committee, the American Leadership Conference, and the American Freedom Coalition.
One quarter Native American (Blackfoot Nation), he also worked to uplift and support our indigenous family members and share their history with his children. Uniting his cowboy and Native American lineages, Boy Scout, Eagle Scout, and U.S. military training, five years as a boxer and karate student molded a fighter and true patriot. Glenn’s heart and mind transcended far beyond our borders when he traveled to Hungary in a campaign to defeat the prevalent God-denying Communist ideology. He was willing to sacrifice himself for his country and the world’s well-being. He stood on that ground to his dying day.
More than a fighter, he was also a lover of photography, movies, cooking, landscaping, caring for a wide variety of reptiles and animals, fishing, classic cars from the 1950s and 60s, antiques, and music. He played guitar, harmonica, and clarinet and was a huge Elvis fan, which is no doubt why one of his favorite expressions was “Thank you…thank you very much” in a deep Elvis-imitation voice. Highly motivated and seemingly knowing no bounds, he was also a renowned hair stylist and entrepreneur, having established his own stylist studio, a health food store and restaurant, a florist business, and an antique and curio shop. He loved people and, most importantly, God.
And God loved Glenn. On March 28, 1987, he was introduced to Eveline Solange Meunier by Rev. Moon in the New Yorker Hotel. They were Blessed in Holy Matrimony on January 12, 1989, in Korea’s 1275 Couple Blessing. He was a good neighbor and exemplary brother to those of us who had the privilege and pleasure of knowing him. His daughters, Michele Clover and Kelly Willis, son Doran Sung Yak Willis, two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren live to carry on his impressive legacy. We wish him bon voyage with all the love he deserves.
