Jerzy Wolinski was born in the eastern part of Poland, Biala Podlaska in 1927. He had two sisters, one older brother, and one adopted brother. After his father’s disappearance, his mother told them from now on that only God was their father and moved her family to a Catholic orphanage near Lublin, where they lived until the beginning of WWII. Jerzy developed his deep faith in God and Jesus in the orphanage through prayers, holy hymns, and a strict lifestyle.

He believed that God protected him many times in his life from injuries and death, especially during WWII, while he volunteered at a German tank factory near Dresden. American bombs destroyed the factory where he worked, but luckily, he was not working the day it was bombed.
After the war, Jerzy was able to find his mother and sister after a few months of searching for them

In 1945, Jerzy was arrested and tortured by the Soviet KGB, but was miraculously released after eight months due to his knowledge of operating photo cameras. After his release, he started to learn photography by working at his friend’s studio. After this experience, he was able to open his own photo studio and make a profitable living for his wife and two sons, Janusz and Richard.

In 1968 he had the opportunity to come to the USA, even though it was not possible to leave Poland even for a short visit to Western Countries without invitation. Jerzy left his wife and two sons in Poland, hoping to bring them to the USA eventually, but it took nearly nine years for his wife to join him in NYC. His older son had escaped to Germany earlier, and the KGB seized Jerzy’s photo business. His younger son was later severely tortured because his father didn’t return to Poland as he had promised.

After arriving in New York City, Jerzy became active in Greenpoint, a Polish community in Brooklyn, and finally opened a new photo studio. In 1974 after searching for a new truth, he bought a ticket to hear Rev. Moon speak at Carnegie Hall. There he learned about God’s three biggest headaches: the evils of communism - the anti-Godly philosophy, immorality, and corruption of the human mind and heart, and most importantly, the divisions and denominationalism of religions, especially Christianity.

He was later hired as a photographer by Bo Hi Park, who at the time led the CAUSA movement and gave Jerzy an amazing opportunity to participate in many conferences and learn about the teachings of Godism and the Divine Principle. Jerzy was always eager to share his new understanding of God and God’s providence everywhere he went. By selling his photo studio, he offered money for the down payment of the church center in Hempstead, Long Island.

In 1988, he was matched and Blessed in marriage with a Japanese sister named Teruyo Fujimura, and in 1992 they were given an offering child, Teresa, from a German couple.

He was always full-heartedly involved in all the activities suggested by Rev. and Mrs. Moon; from Christian Crusade and Captive Nations, Yankee Stadium and Washington Monument Rallies, RFK Stadium Blessing, MSG Blessing in 1998, MEPI, ACLC, workshops in Jardim, Pantanal, Soviet Union, UPF in USA and Poland, and by distributing 430 autobiographies of Father Moon the Peace-Loving Global Citizen and the recent edition of Mother of Peace Memoir.

Jerzy was a very social person and enjoyed helping others in ways that he could. He had a very strong faith in God and stood his ground in his beliefs, that no one could shake his faith in God.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Janina, and second wife Teruyo, and his two sons, Janusz and Richard. He will be missed by his two grandsons Matthew and Slawomir, his granddaughter Michelle and four great-grandchildren, all living in the New York area, his adopted daughter Teresa, and many of his spiritual children.

He was taken care of for the last 12 years of his life by Jane and Staffan Berg in Tempe, Arizona, where he witnessed almost every day nearly until the end of his life.

Contributions would be greatly appreciated to help cover the costs of the funeral and memorial.
