Karl Baklarz, 71, of Mooresville, NC, and formerly of the Bronx, New York City, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, after a short stay at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House. His brother and sister-in-law were by his side to see him off.

Karl was born on November 22, 1954, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Leo and Stephanie Baklarz. Karl was a faithful member of The Unification Church.  He was blessed in Marriage to his wife, Hisae, on January 12, 1989, as part of the 1275 Couples Marriage Blessing Ceremony. Hisae ascended in 2016.  During the 1990s, Karl and Hisae had the opportunity to serve our True Parents’ family together at New Hope Farms in New York. When they relocated to Karl's hometown of Morresville, she and Karl started their own business, were active in the North Carolina Japanese community, and helped with many church events. 

Along with their business, Karl worked throughout Iredell and Mecklenburg Counties in North Carolina as an electrician, most notably in hospitals. Karl was known among his co-workers and friends as "Yank". He was an avid baseball fan with his favorite team being the New York Yankees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hisae, and his brother, Thomas. He is survived by his brother, Gordon Baklarz (Michelle) of Statesville, NC; sister, Phyllis Cotten of Homosassa, FL; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Baklarz (Thomas) of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank all the physicians, nurses, and staff at Hospice of Iredell County for their kindness, compassion, and supportive care during Karl's stay at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House. 

His Seonghwa and Graveside Ceremony will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Memorial Park, 273 Glenwood Dr., Mooresville, NC 28115.
