Spouse: Kazuko Tickner
Birthdate: March 4, 1949
Blessing: November 29, 1997
Ascension Date: April 27, 2021

Rand Gerald Tickner was born in Canada on March 4, 1949. When young, he was adopted by Frank and Francis Tickner and grew up in Rio Linda, California, just outside of Sacramento. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968. He served in Vietnam, where he saw his entire squad killed and survived by the grace of God. He received commendation and retired as Gunnery Sergeant rank.

Rand married Eileen McDonald in 1972 and had two sons, Tim and Gerald. They divorced in 1989. Rand retired from the Marine Corps in 1991, while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. There, he met his current wife, Kazuko. They were married on April 27, 1991. Six years later, Rand and Kazuko, received the Marriage Blessing of 3.6 million couples held by Father and Mother Moon on November 29, 1997.

The next year, 1998, they moved to California; later they moved to Oregon; then finally, to Wasilla, Alaska in 2011, where he built his own home. He was an excellent carpenter and was in the process of building his often spoken-about dream: a museum in Alaska for the Heavenly Parents’ Holy Community. At one point, he went to Kodiak to help construct the addition to Father and Mother Moon’s residence, North Garden.

Rand died of stomach cancer and other complications on April 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Kazuko; his two sons, Tim and Jessica Tickner, and Gerald Tickner; his half-brother, Andy Tickner; and seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kaylie, Carter, Emmalyn, Samantha, Josh, and Johnny.
