In Memory of Hiroko Kamata

Hiroko Kamata

Spouse: Takayuki Kamata
Children: Michimasa, Hiroaki, Houshin, Houjun
Birthdate: August 2, 1961
Blessing: August, 25, 1992
Ascension Date: May 3, 2021

Hiroko Kamata was born in Fukushima, Japan, on August 2, 1961, as the eldest daughter to Kenzo and Kyoko Saito.

She was introduced to the Unification faith in 1987 and led a faithful life attending God and True Parents. She has participated in many Kodan activities, many where she had to travel to another state away from family to fundraise and witness to many people. There was one instance where she fundraised for Kodan for 40 days, both in NY and LA, even as a mother of three at the time. As a devoted person of faith, Hiroko would attend and invest her all to the directions of True Parents and central figures faithfully. Despite the challenges in the language barrier and physical limitations, Hiroko continued to witness and Bless couples for God’s Providence with her strong will and determination, her whole heart, and consistent effort.

In August of 1992, Hiroko was Blessed in marriage with Takayuki Kamata as part of the 30,000 couples by True Parents. On October 10, 2020, she was registered to the CheonBo Won as a CheonBo couple.

After the Blessing in 1993, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, to live with her husband who already lived there. Since moving to Minnesota in 2016, she has been supporting the family as a housewife, where she was a hardworking and loving mom who always thought for the best of her family, keeping them in her prayers. Hiroko has been the center of the household full of boys, shining brightly among her husband and sons.

On May 1, 2021, at around 9:30 PM, Hiroko suddenly experienced cardiac arrest and collapsed. Despite the technological support and medications to help her improve, she continued to be in a coma, and her vitals slowly stopped functioning. On May 3, 2021, at 1:39 AM, Hiroko ascended to the Spiritual World surrounded by her family at the age of 59.

She is survived by her husband, Takayuki, and her sons, Michimasa, Hiroaki, Houshin, and Houjun.

As an immensely loved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, she will be remembered and missed by all of us.
