The Realization of God’s Ideal
Contributed by Christian Nseka, BFM Assistant Director
Looking at history and at the reality of the world, some people may doubt the establishment of God’s Kingdom. They may argue that since Adam and Eve who lived in a sinless environment sinned, how can anybody believe that God’s ideal will be realized given that humanity has been living with and in sin since the fall of Adam and Eve?
It is true that Adam and Eve committed sin while living in a sinless environment. It is also true that humanity has lived in sin since then. However, though this may be cause for concern, it is nevertheless not a sign that God’s ideal will never be realized. If there was no hope for God’s ideal to be realized, then there would have been no reason for God to send the many prophets He has sent throughout history. There would have been no need for Him to send the Messiah Jesus either. Finally, life of faith would serve no purpose at all.
God relied on Adam and Eve for the fulfillment of His will. With the fall of Adam and Eve, God lost the hope of having and relating to an ideal couple. What most people don’t realize is that even though Satan successfully corrupted Eve and then Adam, leaving God with nothing, God was nevertheless able to progressively claim victories throughout history. With the Blessing of Father and Mother Moon, God recovered the hope of having and relating to an ideal couple.
Today, on the foundation of all the victories that God has claimed through His champions, the seed of the substantiation of God’s ideal has been planted through our True Parents—Father and Mother Moon. So, do not despair because evil seems to still be prevalent around us. Do not despair because the divorce rate remains on the rise.
Even as people continue to sin, even as some believers lose faith, even as some blessed couples commit adultery, even as some blessed children and True Children disavow their spiritual identity, all these circumstances do not prevent the fulfillment of God’s ideal. All that they can do is delay the inevitability. Those who understand this will think twice before sinning, losing faith, committing adultery, etc.
The fact that the True Parents have achieved as much as they have achieved means that Satan has already been defeated. The only problem is that his minions think that they still have a chance. All that Satan is doing at this point is delaying the fulfillment of God’s ideal. It’s nothing but a smokescreen that Satan is using to prevent us from seeing the substantiation of God’s ideal that is taking place right now through the achievements of our True Parents.
Once again, when Adam and Eve fell, God had no substantial victory on His ledger. Yet, going from nothing, God has been able to accumulate victories that have served as foundations for Him to send many great prophets, the Messiah Jesus, and now the True Parents. Though the devil and sins still exist, goodness has been thriving while evil has barely been holding on. Hence, the fulfillment of God’s ideal is certain. It is not a utopia. We should not let the devil and his minions confuse us. We should not let them discourage us. And, please, let’s stop allowing ourselves to repeatedly be convinced otherwise.
The devil has been defeated. The reason it doesn’t seem so is because it will take more than a century to undo a six-thousand-year fallen history. We are in the era of the True Parents. Our True Parents are settling accounts. They are cleaning up the filth. They are going through the transfer of sovereignty. They have been reclaiming God’s children by searching for them through every nook and cranny and establishing a path that will lead them back to God’s bosom for eternity.
This is what our True Parents have been doing. Let’s not be distracted by meaningless bickering that the devil is using to distract us from glorifying God and building on the extant divine foundation. Let’s not despair because things seem not to get any better than they were in the yesteryears. God’s ideal is being realized right now in the midst of all these confusions that the devil is creating. Let’s not be distracted by the devil. Let’s unite with our True Parents in substantializing the will of God on earth as well as in heaven.
As they say, “The worst is behind us” and “The best is yet to come.”
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them [i.e., the devil and his minions], for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Time to take up our crosses and cling onto our True Parents.
Glory be to God.
