Madeline was born on December 11 in New Bedford, MA, as the 7th of 11 children in a Portuguese Catholic family. She loved the Drum and Bugle Corps since taking it up in Junior High and onward. Later, she moved to New York and worked as a secretary for ITT. She also loved beading as a hobby.
Soon after moving to New York, she joined the Unification Church. At first, she worked in New York City at the 43rd St. Center. Then she went on fund raising teams in the West. She later joined her husband at the Unification Theological Seminary, where she worked as a secretary in one of the businesses, and was also part of the Seminary staff. Over the years, she participated in many special projects such as MEPI in Israel and pilgrimages and other events in Korea. Madeline was also very involved in outreach to Christian Churches and ministers, especially in the Hudson Valley area in New York. She is the mother of three fine sons – JoChris, David and Gideon.
