Marriage Healing Resources
The Intentional Year Plan is designed to help you work with both distressed couples and those who are
considering ending their Blessing. You begin the process by asking a couple to commit to a year of
intentionally investing into their relationship, and that commitment helps them to stay in the process when
it gets difficult.
Whether you are an individual, a couple, or a parent you have the ability to create great relationships! I know that you can learn to be intentional, creative and successful in love. I can teach you simple relationship skills in seminars, small groups or individual classes. Whatever your learning style, you will gain skills that you can begin to implement immediately to grow and deepen your relationship. You decide what you want to accomplish and I will help you get there!
Unconditional love is eagerly promised at weddings but rarely practiced in real life. As a result, romantic hopes are often replaced with disappointment in the home. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

The main emphasis of the program is on communication in marriage between husband and wife. It will give you the opportunity to rediscover each other and examine your lives together in a new and positive way.

The Couple Checkup is based on the PREPARE/ENRICH Program, and it customizes the assessment for each couple. The couple can view and print their Checkup Report and a Couple Discussion Guide. The goal is for the Couple Checkup to reach a more diverse group of couples, to empower couples to deal with issues on their own, and to emphasize prevention over remediation.
Marriage mentoring is important for marriages in that it gives couples a place to turn to when they experience the struggles — normal and otherwise — in their relationship. There is great benefit when you get with another couple to help you walk through the issues that they themselves have already successfully navigated. It can really help bring insight and perspective to the situations most all couples encounter. The links below are resources that give information on how to be a mentor. Mature and established couples who have “been there, done that” need to step up to the plate and give the necessary guidance to new couples in their church community.
Having another couple to speak to about your marriage and work with you is often a much better route than seeing the pastor (who is already very busy!) or even going through marriage therapy. Marriage mentoring really works and has significantly reduced the divorce rates in churches that have such a program in place. Couples should not sit in silence and suffer through their problems alone. That’s what a church community is for.
- Would you like to make a difference in a young couple’s marriage?
- Would you like to help them get off to a great start to a life-long successful marriage?
- Can you identify the strengths of your own marriage?
- Have you learned things along the way in your marriage?
- Can you share encouraging stories about what you have learned?
You may have just found your calling to be a marriage mentor to younger couples.
We need to help couples grow great marriages from the start. Mentoring is a fun way to share what is ahead in marriage. Whether a couple is newlywed or entering a new stage of marriage, the 12 Conversations program is a simple, encouraging way to strengthen marriages. Sharing stories over snacks, dessert or dinner encourages a friendship between the couples that will last beyond the guided conversations.
Come learn more about this user-friendly model for churches and agencies. Marriage Mentoring: Twelve Conversations fosters the growth of couples, not the “repair or counseling” of couples. It is intended to be a nurturance model for marital health and the prevention of “troubled marriages.”
